Ticket no 169, Liz Baucke, Levin, The Club thanks all those whom sold and brought Tickets in the Raffle. 29/1/2012 - AE Baker Hydroplane Championship Looks like Taupo was blown out and the water too rough and the races were not held. 23/1/2012 - Goldcup Regatta ![]() Bruce Packer went out in his Mini Hydro a 10hp powered craft that goes quite well. He was the Only one to get on the water on Sunday. Ironically Monday was a cracker day with a light southerly breeze and plenty of Sunshine. Picture Gallery will go up tomorrow.

22/1/2012 - Manawatu Power Boat Club Regatta 4.00pm The right decision was made to cancel the Goldcup with the weather turning to Custard. The Manawatu Club will be having a meeting next week to decide when or if they will run on anther day this Season. 22/1/2012 - Manawatu Power Boat Club Regatta 12.00pm Racing has been Cancelled for the 41st Goldcup for 2012. We were Hoping for the wind to change direction but it may not happen so the decision was made to cancel the Regatta. 22/1/2012 - Manawatu Power Boat Club Regatta We are hoping Today will be a better day for racing while it is clear and sunny the wind is mild but it may change during the Day. Will try and do an update later on when we know where we are at. 21/1/2012 - Manawatu Power Boat Club Regatta ![]() Series 3000 and Steve Williams Rip it Up. This race was a very close affair with Alan Steiner and Paul Robertson swapping the lead a number of times before Alan's inside line gave him the advantage. Rip it Up came in Third ahead of Bruce Packer. ![]() Daniel Pollack in Undertaker beat home all Tony Hall, Brodie Mathieson, Steve Mathieson and Tracy Gapper after this race the decision was made to end the racing for the Day. ![]() Vicki Marshall and the crew working on AWOL after her spill. ![]() Ben Ryan in Dancing Bear heading off Jeff Robertson in Bavarian. Ben won the V8 Race from Steve Denham, Paul Reed and Dean Probyn. Jeff and Ian Warmington broke down but hope to be going tomorrow. The Denham's have a split in the hull which will be repaired tonight. Racing underway early tomorrow with a big day for the Tunnels to get on the water. . 21/1/2012 - Manawatu Power Boat Club Regatta 2.20pm Racing looks like it may be called off today as the Wind that wasn't supposed to be here has arrived making things a bit Rough. 5 Races were run before Lunch. Heat One of the NI Clubmans had 6 boats starting all on time which made the first turn very interesting. Vicki Marshall "AWOL" was in 5th going into the turn and tripped over the Boats Wakes throwing her out into the River she was unharmed and they have the Boat going again and is Keen for some more Racing. At the Restart Dire Straits was away with the lead and couldnt be caught Pincoya, Anarchy and Rampage battled for 3 laps with Pincoya taking Second from Rampage and Anarchy. Mad Dog Maddi was Disqualified as he was late Taking to the water. Race Two was a bit rougher and Dire Straits again headed off to win Mad Dog Maddi, Rampage and Pincoya all crossed the line within metres of each other with Mad Dog Maddi just piping Pincoya and Rampage. Anarchy pulled out due to the Water Conditions. North Island Clubmans Title ![]() 1st Ross Ledger "Dire Straits" 2nd Phillip Hoskyn "Pincoya" 3rd Bryce Bennett "Rampage" 4th Bayden Sprozen "Mad Dog Maddi" 5th Rochelle Dennis "Anarchy" will add a few pics and details of the other Races Tonight. 21/1/2012 - Manawatu Power Boat Club Regatta Its looking like being a cracking day at the River today with the weather so far living up to the Predictions. Plenty of Racing to get through, so its a full on Day. The camp ground is quite full already and last night every one had a great time. 11/1/2012 - Wellington Matt Morrison Memorial Regatta Entries for the Matt Morrison Memorial have been received from 5 Clubs in NZ with 15 Drivers to take on the Challenge of winning the Trophy and the right to defend it on home water next season. The Entry List means Qualifying will have to be done to weed out the slowest 5 boats on the day, before the top 10 compete in two points races to find the Champion for 2012. 5 Boats will travel up from the South Island and will be fired up to take back the cup that they previously held. The cup is currently held by Wellington's Mike Wotton

Have added two more of my Race Cam Videos on to You Tube. 4/1/2012 - Lakeland Power Boat Club 2/1/2012 - Lakeland Regatta 6.30pm ![]() Luke Sharp won both the Des Geddes and the Master of Mangakino Today with the boat running very well today. ![]() Garin Keane in "Too Keane Too" Ran well today leading Kevin Thorburn in "Jafa" ![]() Steve Mathieson "Midnight" took home the V8 Challenge over Daniel Pollack "Undertaker" and Dean Probyn in "Lucky Break" ![]() The Clubmans Boats ran about 8 races I think all up over the weekend with Ross Ledger in "Dire Straits" taking out the top points in the Clubmans Series from Phillip Hoskyn "Pincoya" and Aaron Diggelmann in "Little Mischief" 2/1/2012 - Lakeland Regatta 12.30pm ![]() Sunshine today and just before lunch they ran the Des Geddes a beach start race. Steve Hughes and Luke Sharp led away from the beach closely followed by the 3 F2's and Scott Coker. Craig Henwood had a lot of trouble getting the jet boat on the plane and lost a good half lap at the Start. Scott Coker slowly started to pick the Tunnel Boats one by one and he may have had enough time to catch Luke Sharp on the last lap but more gremlins saw him shut down with just half a lap to go. 1st Luke Sharp Promt Parts" 2nd Steve Hughes "Stealth" 3rd Sam Hughes "The Situation" The V8 Challenge was down on numbers but a great battle for the lead with Mike Denham and Steve Mathieson with Mike just holding off Steve until the last lap when the "Inject the Venom" boat coasted to a stop. 1/1/2012 - Lakeland Regatta 7.20pm ![]() Jamie Knight sits waiting while the Rain continued to fall for the start of Heat 2. North Island U/U Champion: 1st Jamie Knight "The Phantom" 2nd Rory Anthony "Predator" 3rd Craig Henwood "Evil Racing" Heat 1 saw Luke Sharp and Scott Coker miss the Start both with Mechanical gremlins. Steve Hughes had a stoppage in the Race and had a DNF leaving Jamie Knight to win from Rory Anthony and Craig Henwood. Heat 2 turned out to be the last race of the day as conditions were to dangerous to race with poor visibility. Steve Hughes had returned with another Engine, but yet again failed to finish. Jamie Knight almost missed starting the race with a flat battery but his crew managed to jump start the boat. Jamie and Rory had a close battle with Jamie taking the win and the title from Rory and Craig Henwood. ![]() Paul Robertson was too fast for the North Island Series 3000 title with Going Going Gone. North Island Series 3000 Title: 1st Paul Robertson "Going Going Gone" 2nd Noeline Steiner"Misty Blue" 3rd Bruce Packer "Brooster" The first heat saw Mike Robertson in Brayka and Dale Pendergast in Suzie IV Pull out as Paul Robertson won comfortably over Noeline Steiner and Bruce Packer. Heat 2 was a much closer affair with the poor weather conditions making the race more even as the boats didn't want to push too hard. Paul Robertson won with Mike Robinson second and Noeline Steiner 3rd with Bruce Packer 4th ![]() Steve Denham in "Inject the Venom. The Lakeland Club got through 10 races before having to pull the pin on the racing today due to the inclement weather that has plagued the Country. There are a few boats out for the meeting with damaged Engines but the weather tomorrow is more promising and the Coker's have returned with the GP Fair Warning and are keen for a run. The Clubmans boats were running on a short Triangle Course the racing was quite good a lot of the Boats are quite close and are providing a good learning experience for the new drivers. Brendon Cornes "Total Chaos" was out in his new F2 boat and will be making some changes to get the Boat running better.
1/1/2012 - Lakeland Regatta 2.00pm Sadly Today has featured quite a few Breakdowns as the teams struggle with the start of the Season. Two of the top boats Stealth and Fair Warning have both returned home to work on there engines but will return and hopefully in time to test the engines today. The new Boat Inject the Venom which was only just put together has performed well . 1/1/2012 - Lakeland Regatta 10.30am Its a very nice day at Mangakino today. We have just over 35 boats at the moment from the small Clubmans up t the Big GP of Scott Coker. Testing is about to get underway shortly then racing from 11am. 14 Races are on the cards today so it will be a full on meeting. We will do an update at Lunchtime and something up at the end of the Day. The North
Island UU title should be a god contest as all the F1 Tunnels are running
the higher spec engines and Coker will be made to work hard if he wants
