We provide Specialist Radios, Headsets, Licence's, Repeaters, and Equipment. With Rentals and or Purchases, Professional Advice from people who are involved every day with Motorsport. We Do Nothing Else. We are a Radio Communications Company that specializes in all types of radio communications to the New Zealand Motorsport Industry. Our staff members include Professional Radio Engineers, Race Drivers, Race Engineers, Radio Certifiers with the Ministry of Economic Development. Motorsports makes demands on a radio communications like no other! The high stress level for personnel and equipment combined with absolute zero-failure-tolerance in communications in an ultra high noise environment places Motorsports in a class all its own. Rex Harris has been supplying systems to motorsports events since 1972. Today, Harris Race Radios serves MSNZ, NZV8, NZV8Ute, TRS, Wanganui Cemetery Circuit, Manfield Autocourse, Hampton Downs, Targa NZ, NZ teams to Bathurst, Nurburgring Johnny Mac, Angus Fogg, Crage Baird, etc. with world-Class specialised radio- and intercom systems to the race control and various teams. Despite the earpiercing noise of the racetrack, these systems enable failure-free communications between race control, teams and drivers etc. Harris Race Radios provides this to Motorsport in New Zealand • Planning, installation and operation of the system, liaison with the various governmental departments controlling radio communications in NZ • On site service personnel, at large events, qualified staff throughout the event. • Spare parts and spare radios • Wide range of accessories such as headsets etc. • Special motorsport solutions for high-noise environments • Optional: development of customized solutions (e.g. for the the drivers) We have a large number (hundreds) of rental radios and headsets. Power Boating Specialty needs 1 - Because of the nature of the lakes, rivers and harbour's that you race on, no one solution is perfect for all. We have rental mobile repeaters, with links, that allow seamless radio coverage in the places you race. 2 - Waterproof, high quality, noise canceling radio communications, on private (Not able to be scanned) channels (same system type as police), with noise canceling headsets. The use of PRS type radios for safety communications is becoming a thing of the past as interference and bogus calls increases. 3 - Rent extra radios and headsets for your major events, clubs and promoters do not need to tie up capital for 1 or 2 times a year. We can rent you those extra radios etc. needed to work in with your present systems. 4 - We can provide power boating through out NZ with secure (can't be scanned) radios headsets and earpieces to enable them to communicate within there own group at major meetings, saving time and speeding up the meeting. 5 - We can provide 2 way radio communications - intercoms between your boats and shore, including the parts necessary in the boat - cockpit to allow the driver - co-driver to communicate, even with a helmet on and breathing mask. 6 - We can provide GPS tracking of your boats in real time, and display it on user-friendly maps on the internet, increasing safety and spectator enjoyment. 7 - We can save you money by providing and managing the proper Ministry of Economic Development (Radio Spectrum Management) radio licence, I note that I can find no group that has a current licence. There is a number of groups that have had licence's in the past but have failed to have them renewed, and they have been cancelled. This shows that they know about licence's and are aware that licence's should be obtained. I suspect that lots of officials run the risk of being fined and or having there gear confiscated, for failing to have the proper licence's. This could be very difficult if it happens during or just before a major meeting. If we can be of any help don't hesitate to call Phone: 04-9023553 0r Mobile: 021-682912 We are Paraparaumu based but travel the full length of NZ and Australia. Hoping for 8 or 9, maybe some thought the weather was not going to be good. The weather was brilliant & stayed good for our entire run. We started with a course about 150 meters long & then made it a triangle with two of the straights about 250 m long. A number of the Interested onlookers managed to have a run in the Boats. The next Test and Tune day will be in October Thanks to Scotty Dennis our outboard specialist, Bruce Packer who organised the use of the clubrooms & Barry Brown who brought his rescue boat. Also one of our group members, has a 10' Tunnel Hydro, which I will have a photo of soon to send out. The owner is looking for offers & is going to be very reasonable so it sells. By the sound of this boat it should be suitable for an outboard between 15 to 20 hp. If anyone Knows of any other Boats/Engines or Safety Equipment that may be Helpful to this Group then please contact:
